out with a bang

That's it, it's over.  Summer vacation has come and gone.  We tried to pack in a lot of fun these last couple of days.  Thursday we went to the Children's Museum.  Thursday night was the boys' ice cream social at school.  Friday was Ella's meet-n-greet at her school, then we took pastries from Sweet Georgine's over to Besta's (the boys were already there),  and then we headed to the Durham Western Heritage Museum.  An amazing place, by the way.  Friday night we had friends over for a casual night of grilling, the Olympics and a little wii challenge by Charlie.  Saturday afternoon David took the boys swimming and almost the minute they got home Besta was here to take them to a splash park and then back to her house for a sleepover.  Today we had a delicious breakfast at Besta's, spent the afternoon at home, grilled dinner and then went to eCreamery for a little ice cream.  So the summer vacation went out with a bang and hopefully everyone is ready for a great year of school.  And as my cousin (who's a teacher) reminded me a week ago, vacation may be over, but summer will continue on for a little longer.  That makes me feel much better.  I love fall, but I'm not quite ready to let summer go.
