this that and the other thing

**I've listed both crop tops on garage sale.  And some other fun finds. 

**Ella has so many mosquito bites that quickly turned into scabs, she looks like she's been in a boxing match.  Plus she had so many on her left eye that her eye was almost completely swollen shut a couple days ago.  Sam fell/was pushed into our brick fireplace in the basement two days ago.  He received a nice gash in his head and a lovely black eye.  Needless to say we've been laying low this week... 

**I made progress on my yard yesterday.  It feels good to get things done out there.  I'd really like to plant more perennials and a couple more rose bushes.  I think this is my last year of fighting the rabbits.  My vegetable garden is doing ok.  I don't think it's getting enough sun though, because the same flowers I have planted in there are doing much better in pots on my sunny deck.  I might have to give that up too.  Or just do a container garden, which I did last year, but wasn't real happy with the results. 

**I'm thinking about switching my dining and living room around.  And I would have already done it if it weren't for the piano...  That makes the decision a little trickier since I have to pay for someone to move it.  If we do go ahead, I'm hoping to get it done (plus the room painted) before we leave for California.  I better get on that!  I'd also like to get my powder room done.  I'm really itching to get some things accomplished.

**The boys started swimming lessons this week.  So far, so good.  Sam should be in the next level up, I'm so irritated.  I, of course being the rule follower that I am, told them when I signed him up that he didn't pass level one last year, but has been taking lessons all year long at the JCC and they said he was a level two.  The lifeguardhussies told me he had to pass their level one first.  I should have just signed him for level two.  I talked to them today and they were again a little snotty, and said they would challenge him and they weren't able to move him up because there is no room.  Whatever...  Now my luck will be he won't pass again this year!  :) 

**I started reading The Alchemist this week.  It is really good.  Really good.  I can't wait to go to bed and read! 

**And finally, David's uncle lost his battle with cancer last night.  It's been a long couple of weeks.  I'm just so glad that we are local, because David was able to spend a lot of time with him.  I took the kids over to see him last week at his house.  I forgot to bring my cell phone with me and right after we left he called David to tell him to call me and tell me not come because he was too tired.  But I didn't get the message and now I'm so glad.  Even though we were only there for a few minutes, I got to see him one more time.  There was a reason I forgot my cell phone...  He definitely was a one of a kind.
