I had a difficult time posting today (Typepad was acting weird) and my patience was wearing thin so I decided to post the photos only and then come back and post the details.  So here I go!

**Dino mini-album--It's pretty self-explanatory.  And it's pretty simple.  But my boys love it and I finally did something with all of the photos I had printed from our trip to Utah last summer. 

**Ella--She's officially 20 months and says a new word every day.  Amazing.  She even says Huskers, but she pronounces it "hussies" which I love.  And yes she's wearing a jersey.  No one is safe in this house.

**The "artsy clutch"--These are my first projects from Bend-the-Rules Sewing.  I'm definitely going to make more of these.  They are simple (obviously since I can make them) and kind of fun.  Christmas present, anyone?  :)

a few things to share...

Being productive...

I've actually been productive.  I mean with creative type stuff...  My brother gave Ella that cute dress she's wearing in the "This Little Piggy" layout.  After receiving it both my mom and I wanted to try to make one.  I've had this itch to sew since Ella's birthday.  And having a girl to sew for is fun.  Now, I'm not a great seamstress, just ask my mom.  She is a great seamstress, the woman can sew ANYTHING.  Me, not so much.  But I know the basics.  Anyway, a week ago or so I read on my friend Lisa's blog (and I few others) about a new sewing book.  It definitely looked like my speed and it has great little girl (and big girl) projects.  So it arrived on Saturday and I've already made two "artsy clutch" purses.  Artsy is a good way to describe them!  They definitely look handmade, but that's the point, right?  Anyway, I'm having fun.  I'm going to make Ella a tote-bag and then I'm going to tackle the dress.  The dress with no pattern.  I hope I can do it. 

The other itch I currently have is the painting kind.  I've sketched out a painting and can't wait to get started on it.  I need David to make a little repair to my easel and then I'm breaking out the paints.  It's been a long time.

Pack your knives and leave...

About two weeks ago I was hit hard with hay fever.  By the end of the day I was on the couch and bored so I started surfing through the hundreds of channels we have hoping there was something to watch other than QVC.  I stopped on BRAVO when I saw the show Top Chef.  I'd heard of it, but had never watched.  Don't do it, I told myself, because you know what happens when you watch ONE reality show episode, you get hooked.  And I have a summertime rule of no television, which I've done for a couple of years now.  I do watch the news and some Foodtv shows, and QVC is a given, but I decided to stop being sucked into the reality tv shows.  Well, I didn't listen to myself and I watched.  And, yes, I'm hooked.  It's a great show.  I love cooking shows to begin with, so naturally I would love this show.  Today there was a marathon so I tivo'd the episodes I missed and soon I will be caught up.  It's better than watching Big Brother, right? 

In other breaking news, I made a mini-album today.  I love mini-albums, but the only time I make them is for gifts.  After attending CHA, I am so inspired to do mini-albums.  I saw so many amazing albums there and came home wanting to make one, so I did.  It's pretty simple, but I think my boys will love it (it's about dinosaurs). 

Speaking of CHA, I attended this past weekend with three of my bestest scrappy friends.  We had so much fun.  I came home tired, but incredibly inspired.  And getting away is so important.  So are good friends.  Scrapbooking might have brought us together, but it's not what keeps us together.
